With registration upon us, today is the day for freshmen registration, and as it’s their first time registering, the upper classmen have some advice. Allen Gregory recommended checking with your advisor, looking at the classes that you need, and trying to take the classes that fall only on certain semesters. Dorothy Daughtry said to plan ahead, talk to your advisor, have a back-up schedule, and to try to take general education classes first. The Science Fiction and Fantasy Guild at Glenville State College is hosting Historical Paranormal Tours. Samantha Wolford coordinated it and Patrick Montgomery is running the tour. It will take place Friday, November 1 from 7p.m. to 8p.m. The guides, Patrick Montgomery and Whitney Stalnaker, will meet you in the Dora Heflin Garden in front of Clark Hall. October is breast cancer awareness month, and Glenville State College is hosting a breast cancer awareness luncheon in honor of it. Students of Glenville State College are very fortunate to attend a quiet and peaceful college. In order to keep the college in the best condition possible, it takes the work of all of us. Mock Trial Pioneers is an organization returning to Glenville State College that will be acting out criminal court cases. Both the prosecution and the defense of each case will be represented by 10-16 people. This includes lawyers and witnesses, with roles assigned in advance. The trial will help students learn how to utilize a variety of skills such as argument development, public speaking tips, communication skills, and confidence gaining.
