Pioneer Volleyball Falls Last Week

Glenville State’s volleyball team lost on the road against the University of Charleston, West Virginia State University and Seton Hill. On Tuesday, September 23, the team traveled to University of Charleston and lost in three sets. On Wednesday, the team traveled to Seton Hill and again fell in three sets. Annual Battle of the Bit

Glenville State College football played against Fairmont State University on Saturday 20 in the annual battle of the bit. The Falcons started off the game with the first touch-down making the starting score 24-0. However, the Pioneers would not let the Falcons keep the lead for long scoring 14 points towards the end of the first half. The Falcons ended half-time with only a 10 point lead. Glenville State Pioneer football team lost to the Hilltoppers at their first home game on Saturday afternoon in double overtime, 27-24. The Pioneers started off the game with Ralph Gordon scoring the first touchdown making the starting score 7-0. But West Liberty came back with a one yard touchdown, tying the score. Glenville State College played against the Mountain Lions last Saturday,  September 6. The Pioneers fought, yet lost with an ending score of 54-27. During the first quarter, Concord scored a total of 16 points, leading until the second quarter where Glenville State’s Rahmann Lee scored a total of six points. Unfortunately the Lions scored another 17 points, leading 33-6 at half time. Coach Hutchinson has Team Working Overtime

  Head Football Coach Dave Hutchison reports that the team is working hard and everyone is excited for the first games. He sees improvement in the team and reports that they are currently participating in high-intensity, two-hour workouts. Glenville State College named Katie Avery as the new volleyball head coach, replacing Camai Roberson. Avery is from Teays Valley, West Virginia and is looking forward to the upcoming season.
