Coach Charles Marshall is obliterating any doubt that his team is equipped to handle anything, even a new head coach mid-season.    Coach Bunky Harkleroad left his position as the head coach of the Lady Pioneers to lead the women’s basketball program at Sacramento State. Jumping Into a New Semester: The GSC Pool is OPEN

With projects lined up from now until May, homework handed out left and right, trudging through ice and snow and subzero temperatures, and feeling like it’s impossible to get close enough to a professor to give them the flu, one might come to the conclusion that the spring semester is in full tilt—kicking them around like a ball bearing in a pin-ball machine. Anxiety, nail biting, boredom, and frustration are all symptoms of high stress situations—even if the stress is positive, uplifting, and happy. But [...]

Football falls to Shepherd

Football falls to Shepherd

The Pioneers came into this past weekend’s contest against Shepherd with high hopes of pulling the upset. However, top ranked Shepherd proved to be too much as they were able to beat the Pioneers by a final score of 49-15. Despite the lopsided outcome of the game, the game did feature a few bright spots for the Pioneers. One of these bright spots came very early in the game as Ben Watts blocked a punt for the Pioneers and returned it to the end zone [...]

Pioneers nipFalcons in close victory

Pioneers nipFalcons in close victory

On an evening better suited for basketball, the Glenville State College Pioneer football team was able to head north to Notre Dame College and come away with a tough earned victory. The day was better for throwing snowballs than footballs, but three rushing touchdowns provided the Pioneers with the all important 20-16 victory. Although the offense was unable to produce even two hundred positive yards, the defense once again played well for the Pioneers. The defense caused a trio of turnovers on the day which [...]

The Pioneers scored early and often over the course of the game. However, their first score came in an unlikely fashion. As the Cavaliers lined up to take [...]

Pioneers squeak by Bobcats

Pioneers squeak by Bobcats

The only thing hotter than the heat this past Saturday was the Wesleyan passing attack against the Pioneer defense. However, the Pioneers were able to battle the temperature and a late surge from the Bobcats to hang onto a narrow 35-32 homecoming day victory Saturday at Morris Stadium. After obtaining an early 28-0 lead, it seemed too many in attendance that the Pioneers were well on their way to a very easy victory. Although Wesleyan scored a touchdown late in the first half it seemed [...]
