The art exhibit featured at Glenville State College will still be going on until February 8 as everyone is welcome to few the many amazing and brilliant works of Liza Brenner, Duane Chapman, and Chris Cosner featured in the exhibit. Student Organizations Show What They’re Made Of

Glenville State College organizations will be strutting their stuff in  a fair and talent show on Monday, January 27. The fair will be held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Rusty Musket. Campus organizations will have tables presenting information about their missions and activities. At 7 that evening, the organizations will present a talent show geared to show their strengths. Creative Minds: WANTED

On a crisp spring morning in 1979, amid the bustle of academics and the chiming of bells from the Administration Building, Glenville State students and faculty collaborated to produce an idea, forever marking student work imaginative and astute. With support from the Language and Literature Department and concerted student effort, Glenville State’s literary arts journal, the Trillium, was born. Faculty Show Returns to Fine Arts

The first Art Faculty Show in more than 15 years features the work of several members of the Fine Arts Faculty. Artists featured in the show, which runs through February 7, are professors Liza Brenner, Duane Chapman, and Chris Cosner. All students, faculty, and guests are invited to join the artists for the show reception on Monday, January 27 from 5-7 p.m. in the GSC Fine Arts Center. Although the end of the semester is quickly approaching, there are still has several activities left. In addition to the final classes and exams, students will also have the chance to participate in several school functions. One of these is the annual winter play, which this year was written and directed by Dr. Marjorie Stewart. This year’s play; Winter Solstice gives a new take on frequently overdone holiday themed plays. The Fine Arts Center Gallery will be showing the art work of seniors Elora Shock and Sarah Normant. The exhibit will be open November 18 to December 6 from 10am to 2pm Monday through Friday. It will also be open for one hour before any Fine Arts Auditorium events. Elora Shock’s art series is entitled “A Sea of Faces”. Today, Thursday, November 14, there will be a literature reading by Marjorie Stewart and Jeff Condram at 4p.m. in room 315 of the MCCC. Jeffrey Condram, an Assistant English Professor at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, has published a story collection entitled A Fingerprint Repeated. His first novel, Prague Summer, will be released in the Spring of 2014. Condram has also had some of his fiction published in The Kenyon Review and The Missouri Review. Condram was awarded the 2010 William Peden Prize and nominated for the Pushcart [...]

Jacob Masters to Perform Senior Recital

Jacob Master’s senior recital will be this Friday, November 1 at 7 p.m. Jacob will be singing 13 separate pieces in different languages varying from English, French, Italian and German. Jacob started singing his sophomore year in high school in choir, but has been training seriously the past four years. Jacob’s performance should be astounding and should merit an attendance. The show is expected to last about one hour. Go and support Jacob and enjoy the recital.

The GSC Bluegrass Band is performing a tribute to Flatt and Scruggs this Friday beginning at 7 p.m. The show will include 2 sets where in total 20-25 people will be performing most of which are majoring or minoring in the Bluegrass program.
