The holidays have arrived at Glenville State College as the GSC Choir and Chamber Singer sing the Christmas songs from the 17th-20th centuries. On the week after Thanksgiving Break, there will be two recitals on November 28th, a student recital, at 3-5 p.m. and November 30th, a senior recital, at 7-9 p.m. at the Recital Hall in the Fine Arts building. GSC Marching Band Invitational

Glenville State College will be holding the West Virginia Marching Band Invitational at 10 a.m. on November 3 at I.L. and Sue Morris Stadium. This invitational is one of the largest competitions in the state of West Virginia as 28 high school marching bands will be participating. GSC Homecoming Bluegrass Concert

The Glenville State College Bluegrass Band will give a concert on October 23 during Homecoming Week in the Fine Arts Building at 7 p.m. with the doors opening around 6 p.m. There will be two parts in the concert. The first half will be the performance of the current GSC Bluegrass Band playing songs that the band has been working on this semester. International Movies

International Week at Glenville State College brings a variety of forum films to campus, featuring comedies and dramas from Great Britain and Asia. On Sunday, October 14, following international sports including soccer, British soccer film Bend it Like Beckham will be shown in room 315 of the Mollohan at 7 p.m. The movie, starring Parminder Nagra and Kiera Knightly, is about Sikh immigrants living in London. International Song and Dance

Intercultural song and dance will be celebrated during international week with two events in the Fine Arts Center Auditorium. The Glenville State College Music Department will hold Music Fest 2012 on Tuesday, October 16 at 7 p.m. Ensembles participating are the Jazz Band, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Brass Ensemble, Trumpet Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Woodwind Ensemble, Bluegrass Band, Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble, GSC Drum Line and GSC “Wall of Sound” Marching Band.
