On Friday, November 15 and Saturday, November 16 the Glenville State Pioneer men’s basketball team jump started the 2014-15 season. “Mother Jones: A Presentation on the Life of Mary Harris,” was sponsored by  the Glenville State College Department of Social Science with a grant from the West Virginia Humanities Council and played to a full house on Thursday, November 13.  Dr. Mike Gherke started the program off by introducing the presenter and giving a little background on the actor and who she was portraying. Pioneers Beat West Virginia State in Final Game

On Saturday, November 15 at 1 p.m., the Pioneer football team defeated the West Virginia State Yellow at the Morris Stadium, 30-7. The Pioneers started off in the lead as they scored 23 points. Solve the Crime at “Mandate for Murder”

The Glenville State College theater group is performing a play to raise money for Alpha Psi Omega. “Mandate for Murder” was written by Pat Cook in 1993 but is being directed by student Luna Acree in a partnership with Professor Wemm. On Thursday November 13, Glenville State College Department of Social Science will be presenting “Mother Jones: A Presentation on the Life of Mary Harris.” It will take place at 1:30 p.m. in the MCCC Multipurpose Room, Room 315. Pioneer Football Suffers another Loss

The Glenville State Pioneer football team fell while on the road at Walsh University on Saturday, November 8. This was the second game in a row the Pioneers lost in the past two weeks. Even though the Pioneers fought hard, the final score was 31-23. The Pioneers have their last home game on Saturday, November 15. GSC Biology Students Clean Up Little Kanawha River

Students from Dr. Ross Conover’s Ecology and Field Biology classes, among others, recently went out onto the Little Kanawha River between the Sand Fork Boat Ramp and the Ike Morris Bridge that goes into FCI-Gilmer and spent nine hours cleaning up trash and other assorted debris from the river. The Glenville State Pioneer football teams three game winning streak came to an end last Saturday, November 1.The Pioneers suffered a tough loss at Shepherd University with the ending score at 14-37.
