GSC Will Hold First December Commencement

Glenville State College will conduct its first full winter commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 13 in GSC’s Fine Arts Center Auditorium.  In the past, students who completed their degree requirements at the end of the fall term were honored at a recognition ceremony in December and were then encouraged to return to GSC the following May to participate in the formal commencement. Finals Schedule

Final Examinations will begin on Monday, December 8 and will continue through Thursday, December11 as outlined below.   Students in courses having multiple sections must take the examination at the time scheduled for the section in which they are enrolled.   The final examination for an arranged class, including web-based courses, may be given during the week prior to the final examination period.   In case of a conflict in the schedule, the instructor concerned should see the Department Chairperson and the Provost about special [...]



Men’s Basketball falls against Winston Salem State

The men’s basketball team fell to Winston Salem State on the road in a non-conference game by nine points with a final score of 84-75. In the first half of action, both teams would battle it out going up and down the court trying to get an early lead. On Friday, November 15 and Saturday, November 16 the Glenville State Pioneer men’s basketball team jump started the 2014-15 season. Out of the two games the Pioneers won the first with a big victory over Gannon University on Friday, November 15. This was the first official basketball game in the brand new WACO Center. “Mother Jones: A Presentation on the Life of Mary Harris,” was sponsored by  the Glenville State College Department of Social Science with a grant from the West Virginia Humanities Council and played to a full house on Thursday, November 13.  Dr. Mike Gherke started the program off by introducing the presenter and giving a little background on the actor and who she was portraying. Pioneers Beat West Virginia State in Final Game

On Saturday, November 15 at 1 p.m., the Pioneer football team defeated the West Virginia State Yellow at the Morris Stadium, 30-7. The Pioneers started off in the lead as they scored 23 points. The Glenville State College theater group is performing a play to raise money for Alpha Psi Omega. “Mandate for Murder” was written by Pat Cook in 1993 but is being directed by student Luna Acree in a partnership with Professor Wemm.
