Well Known Davisson Brothers Band plays at New Waco Center

Saturday, August 30 at 8:30 p.m., the Davisson Brothers Band will be playing live at the Waco Center with retired Mountaineer football legend Owen Schmitt. The Davisson Brothers Band consists of four members: the two brothers, Donnie Davisson the lead vocalist and rhythm guitar, and Chris Davisson who plays lead guitar. Their cousin Sammy Davisson  does vocals and plays bass guitar, and finally long-time best friend Aaron Regester, who plays the drums. Coach Hutchinson has Team Working Overtime

  Head Football Coach Dave Hutchison reports that the team is working hard and everyone is excited for the first games. He sees improvement in the team and reports that they are currently participating in high-intensity, two-hour workouts. There are nine returning offensive  starters led by All-American running back Ramon Lee.There are six returning defensive starters, led by Gary Henderson. Glenville State College named Katie Avery as the new volleyball head coach, replacing Camai Roberson. Avery is from Teays Valley, West Virginia and is looking forward to the upcoming season. Kristen Meadows is heading to Rome this summer. She will be studying at American University in Rome through a program coordinated by International Studies Abroad (ISA) group. GSC partners with ISA to provide study abroad experiences for students. Dr. Megan Gibbons, Assistant Professor of Spanish at GSC is the Study Abroad Advisor at GSC. A new dept. is coming to GSC; Health and Human Movement Sciences. The new department will have four majors: Physical Education, which is currently in the education department; and Human Performance, Health Promotion, Athletic Coaching & Administration, all new majors. Exercise science, which incorporates multiple disciplines, has been extremely popular over the last 10-15 years. Students should register as early as possible because many classes have been known to fill up in a matter of minutes.
