Art Show

The Sixth Annual Juried Student Art Show is open in the Fine Arts Building Gallery, following an opening awards reception on March 25. The show includes pencil sketches, paintings, ceramics, and metal works and, in my opinion, most of the works were well done and, in a word, fascinating.

Students winning awards for their artwork are:

Toni Doman, First Place, “Collage Bird”

Jillian Malon, Second Place, “Wrench in the Works”

Assa Whitte, Third Place, “Man”

Elora Shock, Honorable Mention, “Inner Strength”

Alizabeth Bailey, Memorial Award, “Rebellion

Amber Lane, Provost Award, “The Funny One”

The show will remain open in the gallery through Friday, May 3. There is no charge for admission, and everyone is welcome.  The artworks themselves are for purchase, so if you fall in love with a particular piece you can have it forever.

The show will end on Friday, May 3, so everyone has the rest of the spring semester to visit the gallery and appreciate the works of art on display.
