College Goal Sunday!By Megan-Lynnette Rollins | February 6th, 2014 | Category: News | No Comments »
College is expensive, but worth the investment! One way to pay for tuition is to apply for financial aid. In order to seek financial aid assistance students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) by March 1, 2014 for best consideration of funds.
This Sunday, February 9, the Glenville State College Financial Aid Office will be hosting the College Goal Sunday workshop from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Robert F. Kidd Library, to assist in the application process, confidentially.
College Goal Sunday is a statewide initiative seeking to help returning college students, college-bound high school seniors, and those planning to return to college complete the FASFA as painlessly as possible. For more locations and to register for the event, check out cfwv.com.
What should students bring with them? Mom and dad are more than welcome to come. Bring along social security numbers for the student and the parents as well as income information for 2013 (tax information). If you have filled out the FASFA previously bring along your password information as well.
There will be refreshments and chances to win door prizes including a new Kindle Fire. Volunteers will also be available for income tax assistance. Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required.
Additional free FAFSA workshops have been scheduled for Thursday, February 27 and Thursday, March 27 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Robert F. Kidd Library.
