GSC’s Accounting 399 class is offering assistance to anyone who qualifies for the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) “Free File” program. The IRS-certified volunteers will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-5 p.m. in room 309B in the Heflin administration building through April 15.
The program offers assistance to people making up to $58,000 annually and are filing basic returns. Both federal and state returns may be filed electronically free of charge.
Please bring the following with you:
This year’s tax package
Wage and earnings statement (form W-2) from all employers
Interest and dividend statements (form 1099)
Tuition statement (form 1098-T)
A copy of your 2012 tax return if available
Relevant information about income and expenses
Social Security cards for taxpayers and dependents
Bank routing and account numbers (located at the bottom of your checks) for direct deposit information
