Theater with a side of MURDERBy Logan Carpenter | October 4th, 2012 | Category: Arts and Entertainment | 1 Comment »
Glenville was a peaceful place… until there was talk of dinner and murder. Yes, there will be a dinner theater event with a murder mystery involved.
Student Life and Alpha Psi Omega, an honorary theater society, will team up to produce a soap opera spoof called “The Day After Tomorrow,” written by Eileen Moushey.
In the show, the soap opera has come to Glenville to look for local talent and locations. Audience members will be asked to audition for the show, and maybe jump-start their acting career. Cameron Dickinson, the writer/director will be giving screen tests to those wishing to get their start. Of course, no one expects the result to be…murder! APO advisor Dennis Wemm says the show is incredibly interactive and promises, “No one will sit still for more than thirty-five minutes.”
GSC actors in the show are Patrick Montgomery, Jamie Stanley, Whitney Stalnaker, Lindsey (Luna) Acree, Jace Parker, Ryan Konarske, Brittany Ferguson, Brandon Nelson and Matthew Goins. Most of the actors are students and anyone can be an actor if they attend the open auditions that are held.
The murder will take place on October 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mollohan Center. Admission is $10 which includes dinner, the show, and the acting opportunity. Resevations can be made by contacting Jodi Ocheltree of Student Life. The event is offered one night only so plan now to go. Don’t forget to bring your inner detective as you go to this amazing murder mystery dinner. No one will be harmed in the production of this event.
