Holiday Premium Night Scheduled at GSC
The public is invited to Mollohan's Restaurant on Wednesday, December 10th from 4:30 until 7:00 p.m. for GSC's Holiday Premium Night.
Tree Lighting Ceremony at GSC is December 1st
You're invited to kick off the holiday season at the ninth annual GSC Tree Lighting Ceremony on Monday, December 1st at 4:30 p.m. in the Luanna T. Smith Amphitheatre. Festivities will continue at 5:00 p.m. on the third floor of the Mollohan Campus Community Center with Santa and Mrs. Claus who will pose for pictures with the kids.
Annual Thanksgiving Premium Night Scheduled at GSC
The public is invited to Mollohan's Restaurant at Glenville State College on Wednesday, November 19th from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. for GSC's Thanksgiving Premium Night. The dinner menu will include some traditional Thanksgiving favorites!
GSC Cable Channel Launches on Shentel
GSC TV is now on the air for Shentel Cable TV customers. The new Glenville State College channel focuses on academics and athletics at GSC and is a part of Shentel's cable lineup for digital subscribers throughout West Virginia. Shentel customers can find GSC TV on Channel 182.
Glenville State College Music Fest 2014
The Glenville State College Department of Fine Arts is proud to announce its 2014 Music Fest in the GSC Fine Arts Center Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14th.
Recitals Planned for GSC Seniors
Two Glenville State College seniors have upcoming recitals planned in the Fine Arts Center Auditorium. Seth Stemple will perform his senior recital on Sunday, November 16th at 3:00 p.m. and Courtney Cole will perform her senior recital on Tuesday, November 18th at 7:00 p.m.
Conover Named Curtis Elam Professor at GSC
Glenville State College Assistant Professor of Biology Dr. Ross Conover has received the 2014 Curtis Elam Professor for Teaching Excellence Award. The award, which is effective for three years, also provides $5,000 per year to support additional professional development for the designated professor.
Historic Mother Jones Presentation Coming to GSC
Storyteller Karen Vuranch is bringing history to life at Glenville State College through her portrayal of historical activist, Mary Harris, in a presentation of 'Mother Jones: A Presentation on the Life of Mary Harris'. The drama, which is scheduled for Thursday, November 13th, at 1:30 p.m. in Room 315 of the Mollohan Campus Community Center, is made possible by a grant from the West Virginia Humanities Council and is being organized by the GSC Department of Social Science.
Shelly Ratliff Successfully Defends Dissertation
Assistant Professor of Education Shelly Ratliff has wrapped up six years' of effort on her doctoral degree and successfully defended her dissertation at Marshall University. Ratliff, who began her teaching career in Calhoun County, has been an instructor at GSC for nearly six years. Her dissertation is titled 'A Study of Kindergarten Teachers' Ability to Teach the Kindergarten Informational Text Standards in Fifteen West Virginia School Districts.'
GSC Forest Technology Students Help at Bulltown
Students, faculty, and staff in the Timber Harvesting Techniques class at Glenville State College recently performed community service by removing declining white ash trees at Burnsville Lake's Bulltown Campground.
