Dawson Scholarship Established at GSC

The Glenville State College Foundation is pleased to announce the formation of the Bill and Patsy (Garrett) Dawson Scholarship. This scholarship, which is designed to support GSC students in the education and physical education fields, was funded with life insurance proceeds upon the passing of Mr. Dawson in November of 2014.
GSC's Early Education Student Group Participates in the Gift of Giving

Members of the Glenville State College Early Education Student Group recently compiled gift boxes for the First Baptist Church of Glenville's Shoebox Ministry. The 15 donated Christmas packages were filled with items for children in Gilmer County.
Fall Interns Complete Student Teaching for GSC

GSC Brass Ensemble to Perform at Charleston Town Center Mall

The Glenville State College Brass Ensemble will again be entertaining shoppers at the Charleston Town Center Mall on Saturday, December 20th with a selection of holiday music. They will be performing from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Macy’s Court in the mall on what is traditionally the busiest shopping day of the year, the Saturday before Christmas.
GSC December Graduates Receive Their Diplomas; Heffelfinger Gives Keynote Address

Glenville State College's first full winter commencement ceremony took place on Saturday, December 13th. The graduates, officially part of the Class of 2015, completed requirements for an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a variety of academic areas including business, criminal justice, teacher education, and natural resource management among others.
Glenville State College Battle of the Bands Competition

Three GSC Students Graduate from GSC's Hidden Promise Program

Glenville State College Hidden Promise Scholars, Brittany Hardy, Chelsey (Ball) Robinson, and Nicholas Lambert, were recognized as graduates of the Hidden Promise program at a ceremony held on December 4th.
Winter Jazz Concert is December 5th at GSC

Members of the Glenville State College Jazz Band are preparing for their winter concert, which will take place on Friday, December 5th at 7:00 p.m., in the GSC Fine Arts Center Auditorium. The first half of the concert will feature jazz and swing music from artists including Glenn Miller, Count Basie, and Artie Shaw. The second half will feature Christmas tunes performed in a jazz style.

Tree Lighting Ceremony at GSC is December 1st

You're invited to kick off the holiday season at the ninth annual GSC Tree Lighting Ceremony on Monday, December 1st at 4:30 p.m. in the Luanna T. Smith Amphitheatre. Festivities will continue at 5:00 p.m. on the third floor of the Mollohan Campus Community Center with Santa and Mrs. Claus who will pose for pictures with the kids.
