Health Center

The GSU Campus Health Center is located in Room 140 of the Mollohan Campus Community Center (adjacent to the campus Post Office). The Health Center promotes the health and well-being of students through easily accessible health services in order to enhance their educational and professional experience.

Services

Services provided by the Campus Health Center include, but are not limited to:

  • Family planning
    • Birth control, emergency contraception, condoms
    • STD testing and treatment
    • Well woman visits including cervical cancer screenings for age appropriate women
    • Pregnancy testing
  • Problem visits
    • Sick – cough, runny nose, fever, nausea/vomiting/diarrhea, urinary tract infections, etc.
    • Injury – back pain, sprained ankle, etc.
    • Referrals – cardiology, neurology, psychology, etc.
    • Mental health – managing depression, anxiety, etc. with medications and working closely with GSU's Counseling Center
  • Physicals
    • Sports physicals
    • Routine yearly check-up

10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Last patient will be seen at 3:30 PM; closed for lunch from 12:00-12:30 PM

Visits may be arranged by appointment; walk-ins are also welcome. The last scheduled appointment/walk-in appointment will take place a half hour before closing.

For your visit, please bring photo ID and your insurance card. If there is a copay on your insurance it will NOT be charged. There is no out of pocket fee to be seen.

Please email or call for an appointment or walk-in, however, walk-ins will be taken after regularly scheduled patients so there could be a wait to be seen.

Masks are required when inside the clinic and will be provided if needed.

We can see most types of visits on campus, however, if you are having a medical emergency, please call 911 (students should be aware that all costs associated with a hospital emergency visit will be their responsibility).

Please note: For free services, students must be seen on main campus at the Mollohan Campus Community Center Health Services Office. Insurance will be billed, however, no copay or deductible will be charged. If students are seen at Minnie Hamilton Health System office at the Waco Center, a copay or deductible does apply. That would also include laboratory or x-ray services at the Waco Center.

GSU faculty and staff may also be seen at the Health Center for their convenience, however, normal office visit copay and deductible does apply.

For after hours care, Minnie Hamilton Health Center is available at the Waco Center. Walk-ins are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:20 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM – 3:20 PM or appointments can be scheduled by calling the office at 304-462-7322.
