Glenville, WV – The Glenville State Softball team dropped two games to the Shepherd University Rams on Tuesday afternoon.
In the first game Shepherd took a quick 0-1 lead in the top of the first inning.
Shepherd added two runs in the top of the fifth as they went up 0-3.
The Lady Pioneers ended up heading into the bottom of the seventh down 0-4 as they had one last chance but ended up having three quick outs as Shepherd took game one of the double header 0-4.
GSC only had two hits in the game while the Rams racked up 13.
Lacey Metheney went one for two while Morgan Scarpellini went one for two as well.
Brittany May pitched seven innings for the Lady Pioneers as she allowed 13 hits, four runs, and struck out three batters.
In game two, it was much of the same story as the Rams went up 0-1 in the top of the first inning.
Shepherd added to their lead in the second inning as they scored five runs as they took a 0-6 lead.
GSC could not find their offense as they fell to Shepherd in game two 0-7.
Carlee Chatron and Carly Caldon both went two for four in the game. Lacey Metheny went two for three for the Lady Pioneers.
Shelby Colson pitched six innings for GSC as she allowed 12 hits, six runs, and struck out one batter.
The Lady Pioneers return to action this Friday, April 6th when Ohio Valley travels to Glenville. Game time is set for 3:00 PM.
