California, PA – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers basketball squad went on the road and suffered their first loss of the 2012-13 season to California PA 55-102.
GSC led 9-8 at the 16:42 mark in the first half. However California PA would make a run and go on an eight point run as they would take the lead 19-11 at the 13:00 mark of the first half.
After that run it was all California PA from their on out. California PA would head to halftime with a 21 point lead 47-26.
The Lady Pioneers tired everything they could to get back into the game but they couldn’t find their shooting touch as California PA claimed a 102-55 victory.
GSC had a terrible day shooting as they shot 19 percent from the floor and 22 percent from behind the three point line. California PA shot 51 percent from the floor and 45 percent from behind the three point line.
The Lady Pioneers didn’t have a player score in double figures. Kenyona Simmons led the way with nine points and eight rebounds.
Ginny Mills scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds, while Ashleigh Fossett also scored eight points.
California PA was led by Stephanie Michael as she scored a game high 24 points. Elena Antonenko chipped in with 17 points.
The Lady Pioneers are now sitting at 2-1 on the year. They return to action Tuesday, November 20th when they open up conference play as Wheeling Jesuit travels to Glenville. Tip-off is set for 5:30 pm.
