The GSC Pioneers fell on the road to Urbana 9-12

Urbana, Ohio – The Glenville State College Pioneer football team fell on the road to the Urbana Blue Knights, 9-12.

The Pioneers would get on the scoreboard first as Demetrius Quarles would recovered a muffed punt in the endzone by Urbana’s Marc Johnson, as GSC took a, 6-0 lead, however the PAT would be no good.
Urbana would later tie it up a, 6-6 later in the first quarter as Urbana’s David Hill found the endzone on a two yard run. Urbana would try for a two-point conversion but would fail.

Then in the second quarter Urbana would take the lead, 12-6 over the Pioneers, when the Blue Knights quarterback D.J. Mendenhall hit Alvin Busbee on an eight yard touchdown pass. Again the two-point conversion would fail.

Urbana would take that 12-6 lead into halftime.

The Pioneers would cut the lead to three points in the third quarter when Ryan Cullen would nail a 30 yard field goal, making it 12-9.

But that’s as close as the Pioneers would get as Urbana would do just enough to hold on to a 12-9 victory.
