GLENVILLE, WV—The second annual ‘Veterans and Military Ball’ will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Glenville State College Mollohan Campus Community Center Ballroom. The public is cordially invited to attend the event which is sponsored by the Student Veterans Association and takes as its theme, ‘Remembering Vietnam: Honoring Our Veterans 40 Years Later.’
“This is a wonderful opportunity to honor and thank our Vietnam vets, too many of whom did not receive the warm welcome upon their return that they should have. It is also a chance for Veterans from different eras to meet each other and mingle with people who may not have served, but support our troops,“ said event Coordinator Jennifer Wenner, who spent over twenty years in the Air Force and attained the rank of Tech Sergeant, E-6. “Last year everybody had a great time and we’re looking forward to enjoying another successful evening,” Wenner added.
Tickets are $30 per person, which includes cocktails from 6:00-7:00 p.m., dinner from 7:00-8:00 p.m. and dancing to a live band from 8 p.m. until 12:00 p.m. Semi-formal attire for the ball is requested.
Please R.S.V.P. by Friday, October 25, 2013. Checks may be made payable to Glenville State College with ‘Veterans and Military Ball’ in the memo line. The mailing address is: Student Veterans Association, GSC, 200 High Street, Glenville, West Virginia 26351.
