GSC would jump out to a 28-0 lead on the Bobcats as Rahmann Lee scored on an eight yard touchdown run, a three yard Sean Steele touchdown run, a six yard Derek McRae touchdown run, and a 10 yard pass from Steele to Seth Jordan.The Pioneers would continue to dominate the first half as they took a 28-7 lead into halftime.
In the second half the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats would make a run. The Bobcats would score five points in a matter of 15 seconds after a 38 yard field goal and a safety as West Virginia Wesleyan made it, 28-12 early in the third quarter. Wesleyan would then score again making it, 19-28, with 8:58 left to play in the third quarter.
However on the Pioneers next possession Sean Steele would hit Seth Jordan, his second touchdown of the afternoon, for a nine yard touchdown pass as GSC made it a 16 point game, 35-19.
The Bobcats would score two late touchdowns to make it, 35-32. With only 1:28 left to play the Bobcats would attempt an onside kick but Michael Evans would recover for the G men as the Pioneers would hold off the Bobcats on Homecoming weekend, 35-32.
Rahmann Lee rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries. Freshman signal caller Sean Steele threw for 154 yards as he went 14 for 27 with two touchdowns and an interception. Quin Thornton caught three passes for 51 yards while Seth Jordan caught three passes for 37 yards and two touchdowns. Darren Elliott had a great game as he racked up nine tackles and also had nine pass break-ups. James Johnson also had nine tackles on the day while Devin Cain, Gary Henderson, and Demetrius Quarles all had interceptions on the day.
This week the Pioneers travel to the University of Charleston for a 1:00 p.m. matchup. UC is coming off a 9-28 loss to Shepherd last weekend.
