Glenville, W.Va. – The Lady Pioneers picked up their second victory of the season over Kutztown on Saturday night in front of a packed Jesse R. Lilly Gymnasium, 111-78.
The Lady Pioneers would jump out to a 19 point lead, 28-9, at the 12:42 mark of the first half. However, Kutztown would continue to battle and cut the lead to 12, 51-49, at intermission.
GSC would come out firing on all cylinders in the second half as they cruised to a 33 point victory, 111-78.
GSC’s defense caused 40 turnovers, as they converted them into 56 points.
GSC’s Kenyanna Tate led all scores as she scored 28 points on the evening. Kenyona Simmons chipped in with 25 points, and pulled down 9 rebounds.
Point guard Tasia Bristow finished with 16 points and a game high 6 assists. Jessica Parsons finished with 11 points while Paige Tuttle also finished with 11 points, making it the highest scoring game of her career at GSC.
Kutztown’s Nicole Donahue led her team with 19 points.
The Lady Pioneers return to action at home next Saturday, November 16th when Gannon comes callin. Tip off is set for 6:00 p.m.
