Athens, W. Va. – The Glenville State Pioneers fell on the road to Concord on Monday night by a final score of, 71-83.
Both teams battled back and fourth in the first half however Concord would take a one point lead into halftime over the Pioneers, 45-44.
In the second half the Pioneers would knot it up at 57 all with 13:15 left to play in the game. And later GSC would take the lead over Concord at the 7:16 mark, 69-68.
But however it wouldn’t be enough as Concord would pull off the win by 12 points over GSC, 71-83.
The Pioneers would win the rebounding battle as they out-rebounded the Mountain Lions 32 to 24.
GSC’s bench would out score Concord’s beach in the game 26 to 16.
The Pioneers had three players score in double figures with Donte Morales leading the way with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Lamont Cole scored 19 points in the loss and pulled down 6 rebounds.
While Lamar Mallory chipped in with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Reggie Williams dished out 10 assists for the Pioneers and had 5 steals.
Concord was led by BJ Hamlet as he scored 25 points.
The Pioneers return to action Saturday, December 7th when they travel to UVa-Wise. Tip-off is set for 4:00p.m.
