Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State men’s basketball team beat the Concord University Mountain Lions on a snowy Saturday afternoon, 103-92.
The only lead that Concord would have would come at the 18:59 mark of the first half as they held a 4-3 lead over GSC, but after that it was all GSC as they would win big over the Mountain Lions, 103-92.
The Pioneers scored 42 points in the paint and also scored 12 second chance points.
GSC also out-rebounded Concord 32 to 30. Both teams shot the ball well as GSC shot 56 percent on the night while Concord finished the game shooting 55 percent.
GSC had five players score in double figures with Jordan McCloud leading the way with a game high 27 points. Donte Morales scored 25 points for the Pioneers.
Kevin Gray not only scored 15 points but he also scored his 1000th career point as a Pioneer.
Lamont Cole and Reggie Williams both finished the game with 13 points. However Williams finished with a double double as he dished out a game high 10 assists, he also just missed a triple double as he was two rebounds away, he did grab a game high 8 rebounds on the night.
Concord was led by Cam Shannon as he finished with 25 points.
GSC returns to the court Thursday, January 30th when UVa-Wise travels to the Ville. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm.
