Glenville, W.Va. – Kevin Gray scored a game high 31 points as he led the Pioneers in a come from behind victory over the UVa-Wise Cavaliers, 87-79.
After the first half of play the Pioneers would find their selves down seven points, 38-45 as they headed into halftime.
In the second half of play Kevin Gray, Jordan McCloud, and freshman Brett Morris would take over.
Behind their effort GSC would build a 12 point lead, 72-60, with a little less than seven minutes to play.
UVa-Wise would give one last stand as they would cut the Pioneers lead to six but it would not be enough as GSC would win, 87-79.
Kevin Gray led all scores with a game high 31 points, as he drilled eight three-pointers.
Jordan McCloud scored 22 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Donte Morales scored 15 points while true freshman Brett Morris scored a career high 11 points off the bench.
Javon Moore, Deon Boyce, and Matt Day all scored 15 points for the Cavaliers.
GSC returns to the court this Saturday, February 1st when Shepherd comes to Glenville. Game time is set for 4:00 pm.
