Track and Field Compete at Marietta College

The Glenville State Men’s and Women’s track and field teams competed at Marietta College on Friday evening.

On the women’s side Megan Ruddlesden placed fourth in the 55 meter dash; she also placed fifth in the 200 meter dash. Nicole Himes came in third place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:05.44.
Also for the Pioneers, Krystle Bailey placed eighth in the 5000 meter run with a time of 23:18.18.
Sophomore Marteney Jacobs placed second in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 9.13, Jacobs also placed second in the long jump with a distance of 5.07 meter, and she placed first in the triple jump with a distance of 9.44 meters.
Danielle Perkins placed first in the high jump with a distance of 1.58 meters. In the women’s shot put Cindy Hillberry placed third while Alicia Cayton placed sixth. The Lady Pioneers scored 71.50 points and finished in fourth place.
On the men’s side of things Ronnie Mills came in third with a time of 6.63 and Adam Leonard placed  fifth with a time of 6.76. TJ Abel placed first in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:04.99, while Marlon Henry placed fourth in the 3000 meter run.
Dustin Woods came in fourth in the 5000 meter run with a time of 16:38.79. Also for the Pioneers Mario Wright placed third in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 8.24, Wright also placed third in the high jump while Jordan Swiger came in second.
DeAndre Johnson placed second in the long jump, while Jordan Swiger took second place in the triple jump.
Chris Freeman took third place while Matty Porter took fourth in the shot put; Porter took first place in the weight throw with a distance of 15.23 meters while Freeman placed fourth.
The Men’s team scored 93 points and placed third in the meet.
“Our kids did very well in only their second meet of the year,” stated Head Coach Cam Perry.
The team will travel next to Marietta again on February 4th.
