GSC Men’s Cross Country Team Finished 2nd at Rio Grande Invitational, Women Place 4th

TJ Abel placed 1st  in the Men’s 8K run at Rio Grande on Saturday, September 25th, to lead the GSC Men’s team to a 2nd place finish overall.

TJ finished with a time of 27:55.71, GSC teammate Dustin Wood placed 3rd with a time of 27:58.96.

Also for the Pioneers Marlon Henry placed 13th with a time of 30:11.31., freshman Ben Proudfoot finished 15th with a time of 30:27.10, Chris Hunter placed 22nd, while Dusty Mullins placed 28th for GSC.

Overall the Men’s team finished 2nd at the Invitational.

On the Women’s side the Lady Pioneers placed 4th overall with Krystle Bailey leading the way. Bailey finished 13th with a time of 22:33.21, teammate Nicole Himes came in right behind Krystle finishing 14th with a time of 22:42.13.
Sarah Harvey also had a strong day placing 21st with a time of 25:13.35, Candace Butler placed 23rd while Courtney Rezkpa finished 24th.

Next up for the Pioneers is a trip to Athens, WV when they will run in the Concord University Invitational on October 16th.
