The Glenville State Lady Pioneers advances to the Charleston Civic Center after a lop-sided victory against the Alderson-Broaddus College Battlers 98-39.
The Lady Pioneers got off to a fast start as they took a commanding lead early in the first half 21-2. The Lady Pioneers never looked back as they won by a total of 59 points.
The Lady Pioneers dominated in every aspect of the game. They out scored the Battlers in the paint 30 to 4, and also scored 24 second chance points to the Battlers 7.
The GSC defense caused the Battlers all kinds of trouble as the Lady Pioneers defense caused a season high 42 turnovers which they converted into 42 points. They also held the Battlers to 20 percent shooting from the floor and 27 percent from behind the three-point line.
The Lady Pioneers had five players score in double figures with Autumn Davis leading the way with 19 points. Mishae Miles scored 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds for GSC while Kim Stephens scored 14 points.
Tenisha Wilson scored 12 points and LaToya Hambrick chipped in with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Danielle Woodmore handed out 5 assists while Miranda Reed handed out 6 assists.
The Battlers were led by Amanda Peoples with 11 points and 9 rebounds as she was the only player to score in double figures for AB. Ashley Prince and Zipporah Tidwell both chipped in with 7 points.
The Lady Pioneers finish the season undefeated at home as they finish 12-0.
They will play at the Charleston Civic Center on Wednesday, March 2nd in the WVIAC Tournament Quarterfinals when they battle the University of Pitt-Johnstown at 3:00PM for a chance to advance to the Semifinals.
