Lady Pioneers Defeat Wheeling Jesuit 96-74

The Glenville State Lady Pioneers defeated Wheeling Jesuit on Saturday, January 29th by a score of 96-74 .

The Glenville State Lady Pioneers got down early in the first half by five points to Wheeling Jesuit but then went on a ten point run at the 13:09 mark in the first half. The Lady Pioneers ended up leading at the half 47-38.

The Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals battled back in the second half but only could get within eight points before the Lady Pioneers pulled away for good.
GSC was led by Mishae Miles as she posted a double double with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Danielle Woodmore scored 19 points and handed out a team high 6 assist.
Also for the Lady Pioneers Tenisha Wilson chipped in with 15 points, while LaToya Hambrick scored 9 points, and Kristen Golden pulled down 9 rebounds.
The GSC defense forced 23 Cardinal turnovers, while GSC also shot 44 percent from the floor and 31 percent from behind the three point line; however the Cardinals shot 39 percent from the floor and 38 percent from behind the three point line.
The Cardinals were led by Lauren Myers with 25 points, while Kourtney Booth posted a double double with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lady Pioneers improve to 13-6 and 10-3 in conference play, they will return to action next Wednesday, February 2nd when they travel to Davis & Elkins with tipoff set for 5:30PM.
