In their first game back since December 18,th the Lady Pioneers fell on the road Wednesday night to the Shepherd University Lady Rams by a final of 93-102.
The Lady Pioneers found themselves down by 18 with 16:04 left in the second half. They battled relentlessly, but were not able overcome the large deficit.
The Lady Pioneers struggled through a terrible shooting night, making only 31% from the floor and a dreadful 18% from behind the three point line. Conversely, the Lady Rams shot 51 percent from the floor and an amazing 55 percent from behind the three point line.
Tenisha Wilson lead the Lady Pioneers with 23 points, while Danielle Woodmore scored 18 points and dished out a team high 4 assists.
Autumn Davis also chipped in with 17 points, and LaToya Hambrick just missed a double-double as she scored 13 points and grabbed a team high 9 rebounds.
On the other side, the Lady Rams had six players score in double figures with Jenn Prine scoring a game high 24 points. She also dished out a game high 5 assists.
Jerica Hewett had a double-double as she scored 14 points and grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds. Emily Daniel also had a double-double as she scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Also for the Lady Rams, Hannah Safren scored 22 points; while Carrie Saunders scored 12 points and Katie Biggs scored 10 points. With the loss, the Lady Pioneers had their five game winning streak snapped.
The Lady Pioneers will return to action Saturday, January 8th when they travel to battle West Liberty University. Tip-off is set for 2:00PM.
