Tenisha Wilson scored 27 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and dished out 3 assists to lead the Lady Pioneers to a huge victory over WV State 130-95 on Saturday, December 18th in Jesse R. Lilly Gym.
The Lady Pioneers jumped out to a 30-20 lead at the 10:43 mark in the first half and never looked back. The Ladies had a huge offensive game as they scored 71 of their 130 points in the first half.
GSC shot 46 percent from the floor and 50 percent from behind the arc as they connected on 22 of 44 threes. Five players score in double figures including Wilson’s 27 points. Autumn Davis hit seven three point shots to give her 21 points for the game, while Danielle Woodmore scored 19 points and also dished out 8 assists.
Freshman Keynell Goodson also had a good game as she chipped in with 12 points, and Beth Deren scored 11 points for the Lady Pioneers.
Miranda Reed dished out a game high 9 assists, while Kristen Golden pulled down a team high 7 rebounds.
WV State was led by Chelsey Davis as she scored 22 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.
The Lady Pioneers improve their record to 8-3 overall and 6-0 in conference play and they will return to action Wednesday, January 5th when they travel to Shepherdstown, WV to take on Shepherd University. Game time is set for 6:00PM.
