Glenville State (4-3, 2-2) scored 28 unanswered points in the game’s final 20:32 to stun Concord (4-3, 2-3).
Xavier Glenn started the Pioneer rally with a 90-yard kickoff return score. Three touchdown passes by James McCants in the final 7:30 capped off the comeback with the game-winning touchdown coming on an eight-yard strike to Glenn with nine seconds left in the contest.
Concord led 24-0 at the half, primarily due to Brian Kennedy’s two rushing touchdowns. Steven Hearons also connected with Thomas Mayo for a 67-yard scoring strike.
Kennedy led all ground gains with 220 yards on 41 carries. Mayo also added 200 receiving yards on six catches. Hearons completed 14 of 28 passes for 281 yards.
Glenville was outgained by Concord 572-319. McCants completed 12 of 30 passes for 195 yards. Glenn was his favorite target with four catches, good for 92 yards
