GSC Track & Field Athletes Compete in the WVIAC Multi Events

WV Wesleyan’s Richard Kump and Seton Hill’s Erin Beattie earned top honors as the decathlete and heptathlete as the Multi-event championships ended Sunday at WV Wesleyan College. Kump scored 6277 points outdistancing his teammate Grant Burton by 645pts in the 5th running of the decathalon championships. Wheeling Jesuit finished 3rd through 5th with Cameron Lee, Law Quinn, and Craig Neiswanger respectively and Conocrd’s Korosh Yazdanpanah rounding out the team scoring.

Seton Hill’s Erin Beattie was no surprise on the women’s side finishing 1st with 4037 pts. WV Wesleyan’s Jasmine Claggett was in second place with 3655 pts. Rounding out the team scoring points were Wheeling Jesuit’s Kate McCormick (3rd), WV Wesleyan’s Jenna Howell (4th) and Katie Schubert (5th), and Concord’s Katie Kauffman in 6th.

Team points will carry into this weeks Track & Field Championships being held at Wheeling Jesuit University on May 1-2.
