(Glenville, WV) – The Glenville State College Pioneers dropped their 4th straight, a 94-75 setback to the Battlers of Alderson-Broaddus College tonight at Lilly Gymnasium. The Battlers (7-3, 3-0) were paced with four players in double digits, including a trio with 19 points, Jimmy Williams, Sam Liggins and Stan Hall. Last years’ Freshman All American Terrell Eargle added 9 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals.
The Pioneers (3-7, 1-2) were paced by a game high 26 points from Tryvan Leech and Anthony Kimble chipped in 21.
GSC led 30-29 at the 5:35 mark before the Battlers ended the half on a 17-7 run to take a 46-37 lead at the break.
The Pioneers would hang tight and trailed by just eight with 11:15 to go in the game, 62-54. The Battlers would then go on a game ending 18 to 1 run to push the margin to 25 at 80-55 with 6:09 left.
A-B was dominate down low as they held a 58 to 20 margin on points in the paint, while shooting 54% for the game. The Battlers held a plus 24 rebounding advantage, 49-25, over the Pioneers.
The Pioneers return to action Saturday as they travel to Shepherdstown to take on Shepherd University. Tip Off is at 4pm.
