The Lady Pioneers shot 51% from the field and never trailed tonight in a 90-63 rout of the Lady Senators of Davis and Elkins College. Donita Adams and Mallory Menendez led five players in double digits with 20 points apiece. Menendez connected on 7 of 10 field goals, including 6 of 8 from behind the arc, while Adams connected 8 of 12 shots and chipped in 8 rebounds. Karina Kendrick recorded her 10th double-double of the season (10 points, 12 rebounds) as Glenville State won their 2nd straight game to improve to 8-9 and 6-4 in conference. Freshmen Kim Stephens and Suzi Harvey came off the bench to score 14 and 10 points respectively.
The Davis & Elkins (6-10, 3-7), were led by Natasa Pupic’s 11 points and 10 points apiece from Keri Dennison and Allison Bruce.
In addition to shooting 51% from the field, the Lady Pioneers connected on 11 of 22 3pt attempts and held a plus 15 rebounding advantage, 46-31.
GSC committed just nine turnovers, while forcing 14 Senator miscues and converting 22 points off those D&E turnovers.
Christine DiSabato added eight points, nine assists, five rebounds and three steals, and Freshman Sarah Harvey added 7 assists while not committing a turnover coming off the bench.
The Lady Pioneers return to action this Thursday, as the play host to the #12 Fighting Falcons of Fairmont State. Tip Off is 5:30.
