Charleston, WV – University of Charleston’s Lauren Davis hit a jumper with two seconds remaining, as the Golden Eagles picked up a victory over our Glenville State Lady Pioneers 86-84 Monday evening.

Both teams battled back and forth throughout the game as it was very close. The largest lead for GSC was six points as it came at the 8:52 mark in the first half on a Danielle Woodmore jumper making it 26-20.

But the Lady Pioneers could not hold onto the large lead as the Golden Eagles came within one point heading into half time 50-49.

The Golden Eagles largest lead came at the 13:45 mark in the second half as they claimed an eight point lead 65-59, but the Lady Pioneers weren’t ready to give up as they battled back. Ginny Petties tied it for GSC at 84 all with 2:08 remaining in the game.

After both teams committed turnovers and a huge block by Mishae Miles the Lady Pioneers had a chance to end the game but Ginny Petties missed a three pointer as Charleston would have 18 seconds to try to end the game.

The Golden Eagles came down and with two seconds on the clock Lauren Davis hit a jumper ending the tie and giving the University of Charleston an 84-86 victory.

The Pioneers defense forced 27 turnovers while they only committed 13. GSC also converted the turnovers into 22 points in the night.
