GLENVILLE STATE COLLEGE CLASSES IN BRAXTON COUNTY

Local residents can complete some Glenville State College courses this Fall in Braxton County. Glenville State is offering courses at the Pierpont Community and Technical College at the new Braxton County Center, which is located in the annex of Braxton County High School.

Glenville State College Vice-President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Kathy Butler, says it is a collaboration between GSC, Pierpont Community and Technical College, and the Braxton County Board of Education. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to participate and offer courses there to residents in Braxton and surrounding counties,” said Butler.

Butler hopes this is just the beginning of more great things to come. “We hope it is the first step in offering more courses in the future to local residents,” said Butler.

GSC is offering the following courses at the Braxton center during the Fall 2006 semester: Introduction to Business (W 4-6:50 PM), United States History to 1877 (T 7-9:50 PM), Contemporary Computer Applications (M 4-6:50 PM), Principles of Management (M 7-9:50 PM), and Introduction to Public Speaking (Th 4-6:50 PM). Students can also get Glenville State College course credits for the following classes: Introduction to Criminal Justice (W 7-9:50 PM), Police Practices and Procedures (W 4-6:50 PM), Early Childhood Development (M 4-6:50 PM), Critical Reading and Writing (Th 4-6:50 PM), General Psychology (T 4-6:50 PM), and Principles of Sociology (T 7-9:50).
