GSC PROFESSOR TO PRESENT FREE BRAXTON COUNTY SEMINAR

Glenville, WV—A Glenville State College Business Professor will be the featured speaker at a free business seminar in Braxton County. Dr. Charles Batson will present tips on ‘Managing Stress in the Workplace’ on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. The free session will be held at the Pierpont Community and Technical College’s new addition to Braxton County High School in Flatwoods.

Batson says local residents may be interested in attending the free stress management workshop if they are business owners who become stressed out by the many demands of operating a business. Batson said, “You will also learn about the causes of stress in the workplace, the warning signs, and what you can do to cope.”

Dr. Batson not only teaches business courses at Glenville State, but he is also a member of SCORE, which is an association of business consultants sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration. SCORE counselors share their management expertise with small business owners and work closely with the Small Business Development Centers.

The workshop is offered by the West Virginia Small Business Development Center of Pierpont Community and Technical College. For more information on the seminar, call (304) 765-7300.
