Glenville State University is happy to welcome poet John Hoppenthaler in the next installment of The Little Kanawha Reading Series. Members of the campus community and the general public are encouraged to attend on October 26 at 4 p.m. in the Robert F. Kidd Library.

Hoppenthaler has taught at WVU-Parkersburg and is currently a professor of creative writing at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He has published four books: Lives of Water (2003), Anticipate the Coming Reservoir (2008), Domestic Garden (2008), and Night Wing Over Metropolitan Area (2023), all of which have been published through Carnegie Mellon University Press.

During the reading, Hoppenthaler will be focusing on his fourth book, Nightwing Over Metropolitan Area.  The book was published earlier this year and Hoppenthaler is in the process of promoting it on tour. Nightwing Over Metropolitan Area deals with difficult issues such as political concerns, death, and marital struggles.
