A new and exciting event is available for Glenville State students to participate in. The men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the Forest Festival this past Saturday. Schools that participated were Fairmont State, Gannon, Ohio Valley, West Virginia Wesleyan, and the host school, the Davis and Elkins Senators. Bluegrass band to perform at Burnsville

The Glenville State Bluegrass Band will be performing at noon this Saturday at the Burnsville Harvest Festival. The event is free of charge and has plenty to offer for those not just interested in bluegrass but also a good time. The Eighth Annual Constitution commemoration is set to take place Tuesday, September 18. Among the activities to take place that day will be an essay contest. The essay must be at least 250 words for it to be accepted. First place will earn a 30 dollar gift certificate to the book store while second and third each will get 15 dollar gift certificates.             The 5th Annual Juried Art Show had its opening Monday, March 19th at the Fine Arts Building and featured 44 different works of art by GSC students. Liza Brenner, an art professor and curator of the show oversaw the process. “It was open to the whole campus,” she said about how the event was open to more than just art majors. After years of no crackerjacks, chilidogs, and chalk lines, baseball is coming back to Glenville. Yes, baseball has been a part of the school the last couple years as a club but this year will be a part of the highly competitive West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 50 game regular season that includes opening the season with a tournament in North Carolina.
