The Pioneer basketball team saw their first conference opponent, Wheeling Jesuit, last Tuesday in the Lily Gymnasium. It was a beautiful day at Morris Stadium as the Glenville State College Pioneer football team said goodbye to 15 senior players and  came out victorious on their last game of the 2012 season against Seton Hill with a score of 58-2. Quarterback Justin Feagin completed five of 14 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown; he also rushed for 44 yards on five carries. The Pioneers defeated WVIAC opponent University of Charleston at the  2012 homecoming game 14-10. They now have a record of 5-1 in the conference and 5-4 overall. The Shepherd Rams came out on top over the Glenville State Pioneers in a very important conference game with a score of 34-23. The Pioneers defense proved how strong they truly were on the Rams first drive, when Demetrius “DQ” Quarles, Glenville State’s cornerback, intercepted the ball and returned it 59 yards for a Pioneer touchdown. The Pioneers now sit as the second seed in the WVIAC standings behind Shepherd with a record of 3-1 in the conference and 3-4 overall.
