The Glenville State College Bluegrass Band will give a concert on October 23 during Homecoming Week in the Fine Arts Building at 7 p.m. with the doors opening around 6 p.m. There will be two parts in the concert. The first half will be the performance of the current GSC Bluegrass Band playing songs that the band has been working on this semester. The second half will consist of the members of the bluegrass band, performers such as the directors and Megan Darby herself, and some out-of-state bluegrass musicians playing some of the songs that will be on the Glenville Bluegrass CD. There will be a couple of songs on the CD that have been done by the . Those songs are “I’m Gonna Make Up a Song About You” and “I Love You to the Moon And Back.”
The admissions for the concert on October 23 will be $5 for adults, $8 for couples, and GSC students with valid IDs and children under five will get in free. The band will also be selling CDs of their music, which include “I’m Gonna Make Up a Song About You” and “I Love You to the Moon and Back” by legendary artists of bluegrass, Tom T. Hall and his wife Miss Dixie. Bluegrass band T-shirts will also be for sale. CDs and T-shirts are $15 each. All of the money from this event will go towards the band for instruments, sound equipment, and other necessities for bluegrass instruments.
The Boy Scouts will also be at the event to hold a food auction during the intermission of the concert.
