Glenville State College will be holding the West Virginia Marching Band Invitational at 10 a.m. on November 3 at I.L. and Sue Morris Stadium. This invitational is one of the largest competitions in the state of West Virginia as 28 high school marching bands will be participating. All bands will be competing for cash prizes as well as trophies in categories such as best percussion group and best field commander, so all of the attending bands will be practicing intensly in order to win in those categories. Professor Lloyd Bone stated, “There will be the finest in the state and there will be some serious marching band quality this coming Saturday.” Gilmer County’s own high school marching band will be performing at the invitational. Some of the bands will perform the traditional style of marching band and others will be using the more modern styles so this Saturday’s event will show some great promise in entertainment.
The Marching Band Invitational is open to the public with a general admission price of $6. The show will go on unless the weather is severe. For more information, contact Professor Bone during his office hours at the Fine Arts Building or by e-mail at email@example.com. Come on down and root for your favorite band .
