GSC Volunteers at Work AgainBy David Finley | April 25th, 2013 | Category: News | No Comments »
On Friday May 19th at 11:00 a.m. 25 Glenville State College (GSC) students continued the beautification project that was started in 2008. This project was initiated with the planting of the first of what soon will be thousands of trees on the mountainside that was moved to extend the runway by 1,000 ft.
This year 25 students representing two groups, the Student Government Association, led by President Travis Nesbitt, and a dozen members of the Science Fiction Fantasy Guild, “teamed-up to green-up” Yeager Airport. By way of entertainment, the Guild was wearing costumes that included trees, a bear, a pony, a lady bug, and the recycled outfits created for GSC’s April 16th Junque Funk Fashion Show—the purpose of which was to draw attention to the amount of waste we generate and the need to recycle it.
Students will gather at 10:45 at or near the terminal entrance, with planting to take place from 11:00-12:30.
