West Virginia Community Theatre FestivalBy Logan Carpenter | October 3rd, 2012 | Category: Arts and Entertainment, Lead Story | No Comments »
Glenville State College will be hosting the annual West Virginia Theater Festival on October 13 from 9 a.m-7 p.m. in the Fine Arts auditorium. This competition will help choose the winning theater from the state of West Virginia to go on to perform at the festival that will be held at Louisville, Kentucky at the Southeastern Theatre Conference. There will be many performers from their own community coming to Glenville State College to compete with each other to see who among them can go to Kentucky.
Each group has prepared a short play to present at the festival. The Actors Guild from Parkersburg will be performing Tuesdays with Morrie, written by Mitch Albom. Another play known as Life Over Dreams, written by Aaron Hostutler and Stephen McElroy, will be performed by M. T. Pockets Theatre from Morgantown. There will also be a performance of Godspell, written by Stephen Schwartz, John-Micheal Tebelak, and St. Matthew, which will be performed by the Lewis County Community Theatre.
The festival is free and open to the public. So join the many people who wish to see these performances and hope for the best for the group you’d like to see go on to Kentucky.
