About

Dr. Michael Boehke grew up in Apollo, Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training in from Waynesburg College in Waynesburg, PA and a Master’s of Science in Athletic Training from California University of Pennsylvania. Boehke’s thesis topic was on the use of creatine supplementation in high school athletics. Michael completed a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Administration at West Virginia University in 2014. His dissertation topic was barriers, facilitators, and frequency of evidence-based practice use in Athletic Training.

Michael was hired by Alderson Broaddus (AB) in August 1999 as an Athletic Trainer and Assistant Professor of Athletic Training. During his 24 years at AB, Dr. Boehke served the institution in many capacities including Head Athletic Trainer, Director of the Athletic Training Education Program, Chair of the Institutional Review Board, Director of Exercise Science, Professor of Athletic Training and Exercise Science, and Dean of the College of Health, Science, Technology and Mathematics.

Dr. Boehke comes to Glenville State University as a Professor of Exercise Science. He is excited to be part of the new College of Health Sciences and is looking forward to being part of the College’s growth. Michael lives in Clarksburg, WV with his wife Brandy and son Simon
