GLENVILLE, WV – Glenville State College has welcomed 425 new traditional and online students this fall semester, bringing total enrollment to 1,540.

“Our faculty and staff are to be commended on their hard work in recruiting this new class of Pioneers. I am grateful to them for their efforts as this semester gets off to a positive start,” said Interim President, Dr. Kathleen Nelson.

In addition to new recruiting efforts, Glenville State College continues to do its part in making college more affordable for students and families in West Virginia and beyond by maintaining tuition rates for the 2019-20 academic year at the 2017-18 level and by reducing tuition for out-of-state students.

GSC introduced this year merit-based scholarships which range from $1,000 to $4,000 and are dependent on official high school GPA and ACT/ SAT scores. To qualify, students must be a first-time college freshman, possess a minimum high school GPA of 3.0, obtain a minimum ACT score of 20 (SAT 1030), and be U.S. citizens.

To honor our veterans, members of law enforcement, and first responders Glenville State offers a 10% discount on the cost of online tuition. The discount will be awarded to those veterans and first responders who enroll in one of four online degree programs offered at GSC. Available online degree offerings include bluegrass music, business administration, criminal justice, and general education. Online classes offer working adults the opportunity to further their educations while also working toward their degrees. Classes are taught by highly qualified faculty with real-world experience in their fields.
