GLENVILLE, WV – Applications are now being accepted for the Glenville State College (GSC) Women’s Leadership Circle Scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded in the spring semester to two female students at GSC. Each award totals $500. Interested applicants should complete the online form no later than Sunday, February 20.

The Women’s Leadership Circle (WLC) is a women’s giving circle created and sponsored by the Glenville State College Foundation. Founded on the basis of fellowship, opportunity, and philanthropy, the WLC envisions a community of female givers who provide opportunities and support to female students at Glenville State College. In addition to aiding projects on campus, members will help create a culture of female empowerment on the GSC campus and surrounding community, helping women to prepare for and grow in their careers and leadership positions.

“Leadership is about making others better, and we are fortunate that leaders in our community have joined us to support young women at GSC. This impact will enrich and empower these women well beyond their college years,” said Maureen Gildein, WLC Committee Member.

The Women’s Leadership Circle hopes to endow the scholarship fund permanently within the GSC Foundation. In order to do this, they are seeking new members from alumni, friends, and community members. A $250 contribution earns membership into Glenville State College’s WLC. Those who wish to participate as a non-voting member may do so with a $100 annual contribution. A discounted rate of $100 annually is available for GSC employees.

For more information on the WLC or starting a scholarship, contact Mandi Lucas at Mandi.Lucas@glenville.edu or by phone at (304) 462-6385. To become a member of the Women’s Leadership Circle, visit the WLC membership form.
