Fall GSC Classes Offered in Summersville

Glenville, WV – Residents in and around Nicholas County can again enroll in Glenville State College courses near their homes and jobs.  Four GSC courses and a lab will be offered at the Summersville campus of New River Community and Technical College during the fall 2013 semester.

Frances Fry will be teaching Assessment of Young Children (EDUC 320) on Mondays from 4:00 p.m. until 5:50 p.m. as well as Teaching Reading and Language Arts in Early and Middle Childhood Education K-6 (READ 318) on Wednesdays from 4:00 p.m. until 7:50 p.m.  Rocky Roberts will be providing instruction in Physical Science for Elementary Teachers (SCNC 302) on Mondays from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. as well as the course's lab on Tuesdays from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  Marla Short will be teaching Art Methods (ART 330) for Elementary Education Majors on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. until 10:20 a.m.

GSC Dean of Education Dr. Kevin Cain said, "We are pleased to offer more Glenville State College education classes closer to our state's future teachers who reside in Nicholas and surrounding counties.  We enjoy taking these courses to them while they complete their education degree requirements.  Continuing to provide off-campus Glenville State College classes in Summersville allows the students to pursue their higher education close to home and save more time for their studies, work schedules, and families."
