Fall Interns for Student Teaching
Glenville, WV—Eighteen students have completed their student teaching internships for Glenville State College and will qualify for December graduation. These students are eligible to participate in the 136th Glenville State College Commencement Ceremony scheduled for May 8, 2010.

Brandi Lynn Baker did her student teaching in Elementary Education (k-6)at Craigsville Elementary School with teacher Linda Spencer and in Social Studies (5-9) at Summersville Middle School under Mrs. Hinkle. Dr. Michael Gherke and Francis Fry were her GSC supervisors. Baker is the daughter of James and Drema Baker of Craigsville.

Bryan Daniel Bush did his student teaching in Elementary Education (K-6)at Glenville Elementary School with teacher Kathy Minigh and in Mathematics (5-9) at Spencer Middle School under teacher Tom Baines. Dr. John Curran and Don Sheets were his GSC supervisors. He is the son of Daniel and Tona Bush of Leroy, West Virginia.

Stephanie Elizabeth Stump-Chapman, daughter of Mark and Darlene Stump of Gassaway, did her student teaching in Physical Education (K-Adult) at Pleasant Hill Elementary School in Calhoun County under teacher Scott Golinsky and at Gilmer County High School with cooperating teachers Buck Stewart, Joe Brannon, and Forrest Powell. Janet Bailey was her GSC supervisor. She and her husband R. Brett Chapman and step-son Avery now reside in Glenville, West Virginia.

Danielle Graye Dempsey did her student teaching in Elementary Education (K-6), Early Education (Pre K-K), and Multi-Categorical Special Education (K-6) Braxton County Middle School with teacher Stella Vartheyanyos and at Flatwoods Elementary School under Barbie Rader. Francis Fry and Tara Cosco were her GSC supervisors. She is the daughter of Regena and Charles Gregory of Sutton.

Melissa Eileen Dittman did her student teaching in Elementary Education (K-6) and Early Education (Pre K-K) at Flatwoods Elementary School with cooperating teachers Minnie Coffman and Michelle Wilson. Francis Fry was her GSC supervisor. Dittman resides in Gassaway with her husband Matthew and children Brent and Elizabeth.

Andrea Michelle Edwards completed her student teaching in Elementary Education (K-6) and Early Education (Pre K-K) at Sand Fork Elementary School in Gilmer County with cooperating teachers Tanya Stewart and Kim Cottrill. Shelly Ratliff was her GSC supervisor. Edwards is the daughter of Jerry and Carol Edwards of Copen. She is the granddaughter of Lewis and Mary Wine of Copen and Sue Edwards of Sand Fork.

Faith Harper did her student teaching in Biology, Physical Science, and General Science at Gilmer County High School with cooperating teachers Kenny Fisher, Willard Wright, and LuAnn Cunningham. Dr. Joe Evans and Don Sheets were her GSC supervisors. Harper is the daughter of Gerry and Patti Harper of Little Birch.

Kharity Dawn Beckley-Harper did her student teaching in Elementary Education (K-6) at Spencer Elementary School with teacher Melissa Donat and in Special Education (K-12) at Roane County High School with Greg Hamric. Tara Cosco was her GSC supervisor. She and her husband Nathan reside in Spencer. She is the daughter of Sue Atkins of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia and Kenneth Beckley of Cambridge, Ohio.

Donett Ramey Holcomb did her student teaching in Business Education at Jane Lew Elementary School with cooperating teachers Arleta Groves and Linda Taylor. Francis Fry and Dr. Kevin Cain were her GSC supervisors. Holcomb earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from GSC in 1997. She resides in Bolair with her husband Melvin and daughter Taylr. She is the daughter of Ellis and Loretta Gregory and the late Paul Payne of Bolair.

Lutrisha Nicole Little completed her student teaching in Early Education (Pre K-K) at Craigsville Elementary School with teacher Sherry Ward and in Mathematics (5-9) at Glade Middle School in Webster County, West Virginia with teacher Janet Morton. Dr. John Curran, Connie Stout, and Francis Fry were her GSC supervisors. Little was named the Outstanding GSC Intern for Fall 2009. She is the daughter of Bill and Tamara Little of Craigsville.

Heather Danielle McIntosh of Gassaway did her student teaching in Elementary Education with Mrs. Cunningham at Union Elementary School in Buckhannon, West Virginia and in English (5-9) under teacher Stephanie Hickman at Belington Middle School in Barbour County, West Virginia. Dr. Gayle Burkowski and Dr. John Taylor were her GSC supervisors. She is the granddaughter of Betty Hurd of Gassaway.

Koa Michelle Murphy of Shinnston has completed her student teaching internship at Norwood Elementary School in Elementary Education (K-6) and Special Education (K-6) with cooperating teachers Jane Lynn Squires and Mikki Leatherman. Dr. John Taylor was her GSC supervisor. She is the daughter of George and Robin Murphy of Shinnston.

Justin Marshall Neil did his student teaching in Mathematics (5-12) at Summersville Middle School under teacher Nick Belmont and Nicholas County High School with teacher Cynthia Tallemy. Dr. John Curran and Francis Fry were his GSC supervisors. He resides in Mount Nebo with his wife Jamie and daughter Mac Keili. He is the son of Philip and Alfreda Neil of Mount Nebo.

Jessica Dawn Hosey-Richardson of Copen did her student teaching in Early Education (Pre K-K) at Flatwoods Elementary School with teacher Betty Singleton and in Elementary Education at Braxton County Middle School under teacher Sherri Stalnaker. Connie Stout and Don Sheets were her GSC supervisors. She is the Daughter of Rusty and Diane Hosey of Copen.

LaDawn Renee Snyder did her student teaching in Elementary Education (K-6) and Early Education (Pre K-K) at Jane Lew Elementary School with cooperating teachers Mrs. Buckman and Mrs. Garska. Shelly Ratliff and Dr. John Taylor were her GSC supervisors. Snyder and her husband Aaron live in French Creek. She is the daughter of James and Terecia Riffle of Buckhannon.

Casey Stewart of Glenville completed his student teaching in Social Studies (5-Adult) at Braxton County Middle School with teacher J.B. Schieffer and at Braxton County High School under teacher John Park. Dr. Michael Gherke and Don Sheets were his GSC supervisors. He is the son of Hazel and Buck Stewart of Elizabeth.

Chad Earl Strimel completed his student teaching in Mathematics (5-9) at Spencer Middle School under teacher Matt Husted and in Social Studies (5-12) at Roane County High School with teacher Judy Miller. Dr. John Curran, Dr. Michael Gherke, and Don Sheets were his GSC supervisors. He resides in Spencer with his wife Michelle and children Mikayla and Cadence. Strimel is the son of Betty and Don Strimel of Spencer.

Adam Malaki White has completed his student teaching internship for Glenville State College and will qualify for December graduation from GSC. White did his student teaching in Physical Education and Health Education (K-12) at Glenville Elementary School and Sand Fork Elementary School under teacher Bill Turner and at Gilmer County High School with cooperating teacher Buck Stewart. Janet Bailey was his GSC supervisor. White and his wife Kayla live in Flatwoods.
