GLENVILLE, WV - Former West Virginia Teacher Donates Educational Materials to Glenville State University.

Glenville State University welcomed Spencer, West Virginia, resident Melinda Walker to campus as she donated a collection of books and instructional resource materials to the Robert F. Kidd Library and the University’s Curriculum Resource Room.

Walker, who spent several decades teaching in West Virginia, accumulated the materials throughout her career. Her donation provides additional educational resources for Glenville State students, faculty, and future educators.

Walker visited campus on Wednesday, August 26, to deliver the materials. She was accompanied by her mother, Betty June Walker, who shared memories of Glenville State during the visit. Melinda Walker is the niece of Margaret Miller Goodwin, a 1951 Glenville State College graduate for whom Goodwin Hall is named.

“The Library staff is grateful for Melinda's donation of instructional materials, and we look forward to working with the Education Department to get additional use out of this collection,” said Jason L. Gum, Director of the Robert F. Kidd Library.

The donated materials will be organized and incorporated into the Library and Curriculum Resource Room collections, where they will be available as resources for students and faculty.

Glenville State appreciates Walker’s generosity and her contribution to the University’s educational resources.
