Glenville, WV – The Glenville State College (GSC) campus community’s artistic talent was on display at the Fourth Annual Trillium Art Show, held in the gallery of the Fine Arts Center March 8 – 12.

The show is hosted each year by the Trillium, GSC’s student literary magazine, the Department of Language and Literature, and the Department of Fine Arts. It consists of artwork from students, faculty, staff, and the community in various mediums such as watercolor, sculpture, oil painting, digital illustration, ceramics, and more.

An opening reception for participants and guests was held on Monday, March 8.

Brianna Deel, Art Editor for the Trillium and senior art major at GSC, is proud of the turnout for this year’s show. “Both the quantity and quality of submissions for this year's show were great. We had so many talented artists that contributed this year, and together all their work made for a very interesting, cohesive show.”

“I think it is important to recognize the talent that is on this campus, and that's where the Trillium Art Show comes in because anyone can enter their work to the show for review and exhibit,” Deel adds. “This has been one of my favorite shows that I've had the pleasure of curating, and I am very thankful for everyone who helped support and contribute to this show.”

The Trillium has been produced annually by the GSC Language and Literature Department since 1979 and contains poetry, fiction, other creative writing, photographs, and drawings from GSC students, faculty, staff, and the community. The Trillium is advised by Assistant Professor of English, Dr. Jonathan Minton. Copies of the current Trillium are available in the Robert F. Kidd Library, the Department of Language and Literature in the Heflin Administration Building, and various other campus departments.
