GLENVILLE STATE COLLEGE CAMPUS DOG NO LONGER A STRAY

Glenville, WV—One of man’s best friends now has a new home thanks to some folks at Glenville State College in Gilmer County. A scruffy canine had wandered around the campus for the past two years being fed by numerous students, staff, and faculty members, but he never let anyone get close enough to rescue him until now.

Glenville State College Public Safety Department Chief Dan Bell captured him recently so the school’s president’s wife, Betsy Barr, could take him to the vet to purchase his necessary shots and treat him to a grooming session.

The dog is now clean-cut and enjoying the comforts of a new home in Glenville. College Information Technology Department employee, Jason Phares, and his wife, Heather, who is a Glenville State College student, adopted the four-legged friend.

Heather Phares said, “Our other dog doesn’t know what to think of our new addition to the family and now having to share our attention with our new pet.” The Phares’ are still trying to think of a new name for the pooch.
