Glenville, WV -- Glenville State College is a place of learning. This learning is not only in book and lecture form, but also through presentations and observations. Part of these presentations and observations are looking the part. But what happens when students cannot look the part because they do not have professional dress? They can visit the Campus Clothes Closet!

The Clothes Closet is a closet maintained by GSC Career and Outreach Services Director Amy Fiddler in Louis Bennett Hall. “The Clothes Closet is a closet of dress clothes for students to use for interviews, observations, presentations, etc.,” Fiddler said. The students get to keep the clothing to use for the future. GSC had a Clothes Closet in the old student union about eight years ago. “A staff member mentioned the Clothes Closet to me and I thought it would be great to start it back up,” Fiddler said. And she did. Students are appreciative of this service again offered on campus.

“I like the idea, it’s very nice,” Glenville resident and former GSC Board of Governors member Fran Schmetzer said. “I’ve donated twice, they have nice ‘at work’ clothes.” Schmetzer is not the only one donating to this excellent idea.

“We’ve had donations from faculty, staff, and alumni who would like to help out” said Fiddler. More donations are always welcome. If you would like to donate to the Clothes Closet, contact Amy Fiddler, at (304) 462-7610 ext. 7103 or at Amy.Fiddler@glenville.edu.
